3 and 4 Year Old Morning Program
Children who are 3 turning 4, attend Monday-Friday in the morning from 9:00 to 11:30 am. There is a 6:1 child to teacher ratio with a class size of 18 children. As children adjust to attending a five-day program, easing the transition from home to school is the main goal for the morning program. Because we view separation as a process rather than an event, we continually support the feelings of both the child and parents. Consistency is maintained from day to day so the children feel a sense of routine and predictability. Children are learning how to regulate their emotions and acquire the language skills for success in a classroom setting.
*(Children must be three years of age by September 1st.)
4 and 5 Year Old Afternoon Program
Children who are 4 turning 5, attend Monday-Friday in the afternoon from 12:30 to 3:00 pm. There is a 6:1 child to teacher ratio with a class size of 18 children. Building a strong social and emotional foundation that supports all learning is our primary goal in preparing children for kindergarten and beyond. In what is often the child’s second year at RNS, the children’s play and social development become more sophisticated. Children have many opportunities to practice language and literacy skills as they learn how to solve problems and resolve conflicts. Children are encouraged to ask questions as a way to seek out information. It is through play and with the guidance and facilitation of our experienced teachers that children at RNS acquire a deeper understanding of the world around them, and learn to love learning!
